Photo series of the Day: Gulf Fritillary Butterflies

One of my favorite gardening activities is watching these guys frolic on my passion vine. The spots that are showing up white are actually metallic silver, and I was trying to capture that on film. Then I realized what I was actually capturing was them laying eggs! Then I had to figure out how to still love them, knowing that each one of them was probably depositing 100 hungry caterpillars on my favorite plant. Hmmmm…..
