Borosilicate Glass

Working with borosilicate glass again–experimenting with implosions.  It is a way of “stretching” a dot of color within the inside of a blob of clear glass.


I attempted a flower, I got abstract.  This is a discipline, something that must be practiced.  It is very challenging to work in a medium you can’t actually touch.  It is using gravity and tools to move molten glass.  It is utterly fascinating and somewhat frustrating!!! The back was colored with frit–small bits of glass that I collected by mashing the hot glass into a pile of. IMG_3763
