I Suck at Crocheting

I do. Suck at it, I mean.   I don’t like to count the stitches, because I am not that precise.  But it is a soothing activity, and it made me happy.  The gal that taught me informed me that I had somehow made up my own stitch, since what I was doing was no longer recognizable in any way.  Oops.

I had quit doing it about two years ago, because, alas…like my beloved guitar…it made my fingers ache.  So I gave them both up.  😦  I also gave it up because really, how many lopsided scarves does one girl need?  In the desert?  (They were a little too… “special” …to give as gifts, in my opinion.)

But I went to a friend’s house and saw her baskets of lovely half done projects and soft, soothing yarn and then I found this yarn on clearance and I fell off the ‘I quit’ wagon.

I enjoy seeing what yarn of various thicknesses ends up looking like.

I might as well show the rest of my yarn debacles while I am at it…

The edges actually curled on this one, but it is kinda cute…

My “muppet” scarf!

Mmmmm….yarn….

But maybe I should stick to painting.

  1. Girlfriend, at least you tried. I have never learned and look at you. Creating your own stitch and all, even if by a happy accident. I look at yarn and lust for it already made, knowing I don’t have the time to do it. The blue scarf with the odd stitch down the middle is pretty. All things made by hand are as you say, ‘special’ so I would encourage you to give someof them away as gifts. They are unique.

  2. I love your blog.. very nice colors & theme. Did you design this website yourself or did
you hire someone to do it for you? Plz answer back as
I’m looking to design my own blog and would like to know where u got this from. appreciate it

    • It is just a wordpress.com blog. You can set it up yourself! I had a friend who had already set one up help me. But they have lots of help online. Do it! It’s fun and gives you a chance to share your stuff. The colors and theme is one of many templates wordpress offers!
Good luck! When you get it up and running I’d love to see it!
      Staci
