Egypt: Coptic Cairo

Just an example of what you could see driving down the road in Egypt…on our way to Coptic Cairo.  These are Roman Towers built in 98 AD.

The Hanging Church, or Suspended Church, called this because the church is built on top of the Water Gate of Roman Babylon.  (When the Romans were conquered, this was the Christian’s request.  It was a way to show the ultimate in victory–we literally build on top of your symbols of power.)
