Castles In The Air

Quote by Henry David Thoreau:  “If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be.  Now put foundations under them.”

The process:  I used a print off my computer of the castle image and transferred it to the watercolor paper using an acrylic gel medium.  (Google it–it’s simple and enjoyable.)  Then I tinted the paper with acrylic paints, and drew on it with both markers and colored pencils.  Then I tore the edges because it felt too square.
