A sketch and a quote

My husband is taking a humanities course and I am reading along with him to help him study.  (Cuz I am the best wife ever.)  So this morning I catch this phrase from a 15th century Japanese Noh Theater quote:

“The world is so unsure, unknowable;  Who knows–our griefs may hold our greatest hopes.”

I’m not sure I believe it, at least not yet.  But I like the concept.  Thought I would share it, and a little sketch I did today.

Mixed media–sharpie, colored pencil, and pencil, on tan paper.
